Born in 1976, Gaëtan Dorémus received his degree from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, France. Once out in the world, he picked up a few other degrees while creating picture books and illustrations for the press. Dorémus has illustrated more than 70 books, including Bear Despair (Enchanted Lion), which was selected as a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book of 2012; My Baby Crocodile, a striking, intelligent, and tender book, also published by Enchanted Lion; and Frigo Vide (Empty Fridge), which received a Bologna Ragazzi Award in 2015. From 2003 to 2014, Dorémus was a professor of illustration at his alma mater. He loves sharing his books through live reading and drawing performances, going on bicycle rides, and walking in the mountains.
