Eugenia Mello

Eugenia Mello is an illustrator, author, and art director from Buenos Aires, Argentina, based in Brooklyn, NY. She focuses on picture books and storytelling through rhythm, movement, and color. Her work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators of New York, Communication Arts, American Illustration, and the Art Directors Club (ADC) of New York. Among several accolades, she has received Gold and Silver medals from the Society of Illustrators and a Silver Cube from the ADC for Moving, a picture book she both authored and illustrated. She has also illustrated multiple picture books with various publishers. Since 2018, Eugenia has been collaborating with Enchanted Lion Books as a designer and associate art director among other areas, contributing to the development of their visually distinctive and innovative picture books. She teaches illustration at the School of Visual Arts and Queens College, where she leads a course that explores the intersection of storytelling and format, investigating how narrative can be shaped and elevated by design and structure.
